DOUCET BRINGS SUPERFAST CROSSCUTTING TECHNOLOGY
TO THE NORTH-AMERICAN MARKET

Daveluyville, June 1, 2006 - The management of Doucet Machineries is happy to announce that it has concluded a Partnership Agreement with Jomeks Oy of Forssa, Finland for the import, distribution and support of the IOMUS Swingsaw^TM on the North-American Market.

The DOUCET / IOMUS Swingsaw^TM represents a radical departure from traditional "Stop and Cut Saws". Its new and innovative "Crosscutting in Motion Technology" marks the beginning of a new era in Solid Wood Processing. Together with the advent of sophisticated vision systems, the Swingsaw offers enhanced potential for automating wood processing plants.

The DOUCET / IOMUS Swingsaw^TM cuts boards while in-motion. That innovative approach eliminates time consuming and stress inducing abrupt stops and accelerations. The Swingsaw is equipped with a twin blade Cutting Carriage, operating along a 24 inches long Cutting Raceway. In between cuts the Swingsaw can reach a feed speed of 590 feet per minute and it can maintain a feed speed up to 345 feet per minute during its cutting cycle. In a close range cutting pattern, the Swingsaw can execute up to 4 cuts per second.

Boards are fed through the Swingsaw by a set of top / bottom feed belts. That approach enables the Saw to cut at a very impressive production rate while reaching a length accuracy of ± 40 thousands of an inch. Cutting from above, the Swingsaw is suitable for processing planed and pre-finished boards without damaging their surface. It is also very tolerant of warped, wane ridden, curved, and short boards. Furthermore, the elimination of sudden stops and accelerations results in decreased mechanical stress, less downtime and a reduced need for ongoing maintenance. Finally, the Swingsaw's smooth operation comes with a low noise emission level of 85dB.
